Vic’s on the River is seeking experienced, professional, and hospitality-driven Servers to join our Front-of-House Team.

Located in Savannah’s historic district overlooking the Savannah River, Vic’s provides an upscale dining experience built around genuine Southern hospitality, professional service, quality food and beverages, and attention to detail.

Applicants must have a minimum of two years of restaurant serving experience to be considered for this position. You will be required to work holidays and we prefer open availability.

We are looking for experienced servers who understand that great service goes beyond taking an order and delivering food. Our servers are expected to anticipate guest needs, have strong food and beverage knowledge, follow proper service techniques, and create genuine connections with their guests.

What You’ll Do:

As a Server at Vic’s on the River, you will:

Provide warm, professional, and attentive service throughout the guest's dining experience.
Greet tables promptly and create a genuine connection with guests.
Guide guests through our menu and confidently make food, wine, cocktail, and dessert recommendations.
Ask every table about food allergies and dietary restrictions.
Accurately enter all orders using our handheld POS system.
Maintain responsibility for your tables from greeting through final payment.
Follow Vic’s established Steps of Service and proper fine-dining service techniques.
Serve and clear from the appropriate side whenever possible.
Serve women first when appropriate.
Ensure proper table maintenance throughout each course.
Anticipate beverage refills and guest needs rather than waiting to be asked.
Properly mark tables for upcoming courses.
Check food presentation and accuracy before items reach the guest.
Perform timely quality checks after food is delivered.
Maintain strong communication with Server Assistants, Food Runners, Bartenders, Hosts, Managers, and the Culinary Team.
Handle guest concerns professionally and involve management when appropriate.
Maintain a clean and organized section throughout the shift.
Complete opening, running, and closing sidework.
Participate in lineup and ongoing training.
Maintain knowledge of our food, wine, spirits, cocktails, specials, and restaurant history.
Follow all company policies regarding alcohol service, food safety, cash handling, uniforms, attendance, and guest service.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of restaurant serving experience.
Experience in an upscale, fine-dining, or high-volume restaurant environment is strongly preferred.
Strong food and beverage knowledge.
Ability to confidently describe menu items and make recommendations.
Excellent communication and guest-service skills.
Ability to manage multiple tables while maintaining service standards.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Strong attention to detail.
Dependable and punctual.
Ability to remain composed and professional during high-volume service.
Willingness to receive coaching and participate in continued training.
Ability to work as part of a team and assist others when needed.

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for professional servers who take pride in their craft.
The right candidate understands the difference between simply providing service and creating hospitality.
You should be comfortable engaging with guests, reading the table, making thoughtful recommendations, pacing the dining experience, and recognizing when a guest wants additional attention — as well as when they prefer privacy.
We expect our servers to know their menu, understand what they are serving, communicate confidently, and take ownership of the guest experience.

Physical Requirements:

Servers must be able to:

Stand and walk for extended periods.
Carry trays, plates, beverages, and other restaurant items safely.
Navigate stairs and multiple dining areas throughout the restaurant.
Bend, reach, and lift throughout the shift.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
